ARCHITECT

ZMM Architects & Engineers has a position available for a registered Architect. The ideal candidate will be able to take a project from programming and planning, through conceptual design and construction documents, and through the construction phase to completion. The candidate should have excellent graphic/verbal/written skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autodesk Revit, and technical knowledge of building design, building systems, and the construction process. CIVIL DESIGNER / TECHNICIAN

ZMM Architects & Engineers is actively seeking a dedicated Civil Designer/Technician become a valuable member of our Design Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in offering comprehensive Civil Engineering drafting and design support, encompassing both Civil and multidisciplinary ventures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research site data through various sources such as GIS, Zoning, and FEMA mapping
  • Research building data, state, and local code requirements
  • Interpret survey data for accuracy and verification of project
  • Create conceptual plans as well as detailed, permit-ready construction drawings from verbal guidance and written mark-ups by the Design Engineer
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural) for complete project coordination
  • Responsible for the coordination between various sheets of a plan set and providing neat and legible drafting, and line weight control

Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree or 5 years of experience in the Civil Engineering or construction field
  • Proficient working knowledge of land development processes and requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in drafting all aspects of Civil Engineering designs

CIVIL ENGINEER (LICENSED)

ZMM Architects & Engineers is currently searching for a licensed Civil Engineer to enhance our exceptional Design Team. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering expert Civil Engineering drafting, calculations, and innovative designs for both Civil assignments and multidisciplinary projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research site data through various sources such as GIS, Zoning, and FEMA mapping
  • Research building data, state, and local code requirements
  • Interpret survey data for accuracy and verification of project
  • Create conceptual plans as well as detailed, permit-ready construction drawings
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural) for complete project coordination
  • Responsible for the coordination between various sheets of a plan set and providing neat and legible drafting, and line weight control
  • Provide construction administration assistance by reviewing shop drawings, answering requests for information, and performing project site inspections

Skills and Abilities:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia or ability to become licensed within 6 to 12 months
  • Proficient working knowledge of land development processes and requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of Civil Engineering design experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

ZMM Architects & Engineers is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in preparing electrical engineering documents; assisting with the analysis, preparation or modification of reports, plans, schedules, studies, and designs for projects; performing electrical design calculations; and assisting with the preparation of design and construction budgets. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to participate in client meetings and serve as an on-site project representative.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  • FE or PE

A qualified candidate would additionally possess experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Designing building electrical systems, such as low- and medium-voltage power distribution, fire alarm, and lighting (indoor and outdoor)
  • BIM software (Revit preferred)
  • Lighting design software, power distribution design software, and Microsoft Office
  • Applicable regulatory codes

ZMM is looking for a Structural Engineer. Requirements of the position include:

  • Degree in civil or structural engineering (essential)
  • 5 years of work experience as a structural engineer
  • Licensed (Professional Engineer - PE) in West Virginia
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit
  • Knowledge of commercial building construction methods, materials, and building codes
  • Attention to detail with good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
