The academy model offers interdisciplinary, career-focused learning opportunities. Academy partnerships with post-secondary institutions, business, and industry add career skill development that students need to solve real-world challenges.
The building design is an innovative approach for this educational facility to achieve the ability for academies to be flexible and adaptable for evolving technology and changing demands in the workforce. Space demands vary from collaboration space, simulated workplace training, and occupational-specific equipment designed for the learning environment. One of the main project goals is to provide a modern facility that is flexible, inspiring, and innovative to house this one-of-a-kind learning experience in West Virginia. The new facility will accommodate 1,500 students from grades 6 through 12. The site construction will transform approximately 80 acres into the school campus, which will contain new athletic fields. Construction of the building will commence in 2023 and be completed in 2025.
