BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

VIRGINIA MARKET – We are seeking a dedicated Business Development Specialist to join our team and support our growth in Virginia. Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills. This role involves building and maintaining client relationships, identifying and pursuing new opportunities, supporting the development of expressions of interest submissions, and representing ZMM at industry events. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate with leadership, marketing, and technical staff across the firm while also working independently to generate new and repeat business opportunities. This role is based in the Virginia area. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Experience and/or education related to architecture, engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.

CLERK OF THE WORKS

ZMM Architects and Engineers is seeking an experienced Clerk of the Works to serve as the on-site representative for projects during construction. This role is responsible for observing construction progress, verifying conformance with contract documents, and helping ensure quality, schedule, and budget expectations are met.

The Clerk of the Works will regularly review work in progress, document observations, and communicate with the design team, contractors, and owners to address issues as they arise. Responsibilities include monitoring materials and workmanship, tracking progress against the construction schedule, reviewing submittals and field reports, and assisting with inspections, punch lists, and closeout activities.

The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of construction methods and codes, excellent attention to detail, and clear communication skills. Experience in building construction, inspection, or construction administration is required, with the ability to work collaboratively while maintaining objectivity and professionalism on site.

CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATOR

ZMM Architects and Engineers is seeking a Construction Administrator to support project delivery through the construction phase. This role works closely with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors to administer construction services, including reviewing submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and change orders. They conduct site visits and document progress to help ensure projects are built in accordance with the contract documents, schedule, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience in construction administration for architectural and/or engineering projects, a strong understanding of construction documents and processes, and the ability to communicate clearly, stay organized, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

ZMM is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team. The Electrical Engineer will prepare electrical engineering documents, perform electrical design calculations, assist with preparing design and construction budgets, and may also participate in client meetings and/or serve as an on-site project representative. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university and FE or PE licensure are required. Preferred experience includes designing building electrical systems and using BIM software (Revit). The ideal candidate would have knowledge of lighting and power distribution design software, Microsoft Office, and applicable regulatory codes. They should possess strong communication and organizational skills, be self-motivated, enjoy solving challenging problems and seeking practical and innovative solutions, and work well both independently and as part of a team.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

We are seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to join the ZMM team. Candidates should have a degree in civil or structural engineering, at least 5 years of work experience, and a PE license. Expertise with Autodesk Revit and knowledge of commercial building construction methods and building codes is essential. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are required. They should possess strong communication and organizational skills, be self-motivated, enjoy solving challenging problems and seeking practical and innovative solutions, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
