Throughout his career, Hunter has been actively involved in the design of a wide array of new construction and renovations that include performing arts centers, K-12 education and higher education campus projects, water and wastewater treatment plants, visitor centers, museums, park facilities, healthcare/behavioral healthcare facilities, public safety and police headquarters, fire and rescue stations, municipal offices, downtown revitalizations, accessibility improvements, public housing, historical structures, and a multitude of maintenance and repairs projects. Serving a variety of clients and program types has aided in broadening Hunter’s understanding of the practice of architecture. He approaches each program with an open mind to the myriad of design solutions available to meet the clients’ needs.

Hunter has held a variety of roles including Project Manager, Architectural Department Head, Project Architect, and has also served as a mentor to aspiring architects, as they navigate through the requirements of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He is a Registered Architect in Virginia, West Virginia, and Ohio. He is a Professional Member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), National Council of Architectural Registration Boards certificate holder, Associate Member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers and is currently serves as the Vice President of the Wythe County Historical Society Board of Directors.

He is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, and resides in Rural Retreat, Virginia.
