The new Media Innovation Center addition was centered on the north wall between the two exit stairs to maximize area. The exterior wall of the middle classroom was removed to create an access path into the building and to the main circulation corridor. The Media Innovation Center space was formed from the renovated middle classroom and the new addition. Additionally, renovations of a training room and library were a part of this project.
The exterior of the Media Innovation Center is highlighted by bright red aluminum composite metal panels matching the school colors. The metal panel provides a stunning visual accent to the front entrance. A clear, anodized storefront with clear, insulated glazing provides views to the student parking area. A tan brick knee wall matching the existing building anchors the horizontal glass design. Diffused light floods the interior of the Media Innovation Center providing great light throughout the space.
The media center prominently features the school’s colors to instill a sense of identity and school pride. Red and white were incorporated into accent walls, furniture, and decorative elements. The modern finishes, such as a sleek, metal ceiling, glass partitions, and light wood provide a sophisticated contrast to the vibrant hues.
The student lounge is thoughtfully designed with a variety of seating and work areas to cater to diverse needs. Comfortable, modular lounge seating is arranged in informal clusters, providing a relaxed environment for reading, socializing, or unwinding between classes. Custom-designed bookshelves line the walls, featuring built-in seating that offers a quiet space for study while keeping books and resources easily accessible. For collaborative work, circular tables support group activities and projects, while dedicated STEAM project tables equipped with durable surfaces and ample storage facilitate hands-on experiments and creative endeavors.
