ZMM transformed Steptoe and Johnson’s traditional, underutilized office space into modern, cohesive office suites that utilize the space more effectively and efficiently.
The design aligned the legal team offices along the perimeter while the interior section houses the support staff. This provided increased flow and resulted in cost savings for the firm. Initially, Steptoe and Johnson had four-and-a-half floors in the building and after this redesign and renovation, they only needed three floors.
The minimalist design for this project enhances aesthetics and functionality through simple patterns, a neutral palette, and wood accents that add warmth. Weathered stone-inspired carpet introduces texture, while acoustic panels reduce noise. Frosted glass walls provide natural light and visual openness. All spaces received new furniture to align with the design and creative storage solutions were designed to promote a functional workplace and a calming environment.
Steptoe and Johnson wanted to utilize their space to showcase commissioned works from talented artists and ZMM’s clean, modern design provided a perfect canvas for the artwork.
The collaborative efforts with Steptoe and Johnson delivered a professional and sophisticated atmosphere while improving space utilization and providing long-term cost savings.
