Throughout his career, David Ferguson has been involved in projects of varying types including educational, health care, industrial, retail, and correctional. Many of his projects have been honored with planning and design awards, including St. Albans High School, Lincoln County High School, and Hacker Valley K-8 School.

He has been published in School Planning and Management Magazine, Building Blueprints, Science Classroom/Laboratory, West Virginia Construction News Magazine, West Virginia Contractor's Association, and Construction Progress, among others.

David is a registered architect in West Virginia and Ohio and is a Professional Member of the American Institute of Architects, the West Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and the U.S. Green Building Council. He is a member of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) and is a Recognized Educational Facility Professional (REFP) by CEFPI. He is a past president of the West Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Keith Albee Theater.

David is a graduate of West Virginia State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology/Architectural Design. He was recognized in 2025 by WV Executive Magazine as a Sharp Shooter, an award given to leaders who excel in their fields and have active participation in community service and philanthropic efforts. David and his wife, Susanne, reside in Huntington, West Virginia.
