The Kanawha County Commission hosted a groundbreaking of the Shawnee Sports Complex Welcome and Tourism Center on Thursday, August 8, 2024 in Dunbar, W.Va.

“ZMM Architects and Engineers is excited to be a part of this expansion which will enable the Shawnee Sports Complex to welcome more teams and guests to the area and enhance the experience for visitors,” shared Adam Krason, Architect, Accredited Learning Environment Planner, and Principal at ZMM. “The new construction will replace the existing building that is less than 3,000 SF with a 12,000 SF facility to accommodate the growing number of visitors.”

The Shawnee Sports Complex Welcome and Tourism Center will bring much-needed space to this popular sports destination. The new facility will include a commercial kitchen, locker rooms, tournament spaces, and offices.
